As the President of the Young Quantity Surveyors for New South Wales Chapter of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors I would like to extend a warm invitation to our ICEC & PAQS partners across the world to attend the Young Quantity Surveyors/Cost Engineers Program in Sydney, Australia on the 15th & 16th of November 2018.

Sydney is ranked in the top 10 most liveable cities in the world with over $50 billion in on-going development. It is home to the sites including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach, and world class dining and events. Home to over 5 million Sydney, located on the East coast of Australia, is a must-see city for all and is a hub for Finance, Construction, Manufacturing and Tourism.

We are looking forward to welcoming representatives to Sydney this year to progress the technical presentations, discussions, site visits and networking opportunities from our previous conference in Vancouver, Canada last year.

About the program

Traditionally held immediately preceding the Annual PAQS Conference, the program allows Young Quantity Surveyors from member associations to network with and learn from their peers and colleagues across the Pacific Region.

The program will consist of formal meetings, presentations, site visits and networking events and will take place prior to the ICEC-PAQS 2018 Conference. A full program will be released over the coming months.

Submissions are sought on the following themes;
• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Project Controls/Cost Management
• Smart Cities/Smart Infrastructure
• Building Resilience/Post Disaster Reconstruction
• Innovation in Construction

Additionally, each member association will be asked to contribute a short presentation & article on their country’s construction development.

Each member association is invited to nominate up to 2 participants for the program. The program is free of charge to participants (excluding airfares, accommodation and beverages at dinner).
